Kanturk Credit Union kindly sponsor the School Art Competition.
The competition and the exhibition of every entry in shop windows throughout the town turns Kanturk into one big colourful art gallery for a week around St. Patrick’s Day.
It is the mainstay of Kanturk Arts Festival and each year we are lucky enough to have a really enthusiastic judge John Phillip Murray an artist who has exhibited both nationally and internationally to adjudicate.
The aim of the competition is to encourage artist expression and creativity in budding young artists and to nurture a love of art which will hopefully last a lifetime.
