We are delighted to welcome back Eoin & Noel again this year, their wonderful concert ” Some Enchanted Evening” during last year’s Kanturk Arts Festival was one of the highlights and left the audience wanting more. They went on to perform at Mallow Arts Festival and during Culture Night 2017.
Eoin Leahy began singing in ‘99 while studying for a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in UCC. As a member of the UCC Choral Society, he performed in “The Boyfriend”, “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Oliver” the musicals. Eoin sang with Cork Opera Works in Mozarts’ Vespers, Rutters’ Requiem and in the Premier of John Gibsons’ “Judith and Holofernes”. Joining Cork Opera 2005, he performed the principal male role in Purcells’ “Dido and Aeneas”, in the chorus of Mozarts’ “The Marriage of Figaro”, as “Lilas Pastia” in Bizets “Carmen”, and as “il Ufficiale” in Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville”. He toured France with Co-Opera Ireland performing as the “Imperial Commissioner” in Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly”. Eoin has diversified into barbershop quartet and chorus singing and won as the bass member of Quartet “The Entertainers” the All Ireland gold Medal for barbershop singing. Eoin sang in the Lord Mayors heritage concert in the city hall. Eoin studied voice in the CIT School of music under teacher Mary Mac Sweeney
Noel Walsh, Guitarist.
Noel has a lifetime’s experience of playing and teaching guitar, including classical, jazz, pop, folk etc. “ Any good song or tune I like is worth learning!” He has played at wedding receptions, restaurants, hotels, corporate functions etc. and has a relaxed warm sound. In recent times his musical partnership with classical baritone, Eoin Leahy has been a huge success at Arts Festivals, Concerts and cultural events. Their repertoire includes Irish songs, jazz classics, and songs from films, shows and great operas. Their focus is on a relaxed, entertaining programme of great songs and a few instrumentals and their years of work and experience brings lots of pleasure in their performances.
Their concerts are always described as unmissable, and that says it all!
