We are thrilled for our fellow committee member Viv, who was awarded a Fellowship of the Irish Photographic Federation at the weekend. 👏👏👏So thrilled and thankful to have been awarded a Fellowship of the Irish Photographic Federation today at the distinction sitting. Thank you to the assessors for voting for my panel and the support team for making the day possible also to everyone who helped me with such good advice to achieve this target. This is my cyanotype panel that I put forward for assessment and my statement of intent.
Statement
"I present to you a botanical study of shape, colour, texture and patterns.
Based on the technique of cyanotype printing, this body of work delivers a cohesive submission of plant images, creating chromatic transitions from Prussian blue through to green and yellow tones, an organic process where the results are unpredictable but always unique to each image.
The amazing natural shapes created by the plant material placed on the sensitised paper to create the silhouette, is then enhanced with various agents to create a unique texture and patterns to the background of each image before exposing to the light.
The blending the colours of each image produced the harmony and rhythm throughout the panel which take the viewer through a journey of complementary toning while marvelling at natures ingenuity in the patterns and shapes of the plant material."

Missed St. Patrick’s Night Miscellany or want to view it again, well, here’s your opportunity.☘️

St. Patrick’s Night Miscellany was presented via zoom to a large and very appreciative audience who enjoyed an eclectic mix of songs, stories, music and recitation.
We got a wonderful feedback and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, participants and all of you who tuned in on the night for making it the success it was. 👏👏👏
The night’s miscellany was recorded live so here is another opportunity to enjoy the entertainment or a chance for all of you missed it to see the great talent on display on the night.
Enjoy & share. 😀☘️☘️
