The Friends of the Festival draw took place on Monday night at the final event of the weekend in the Alley Bar. The winner was Mary Crowley. Mary won a print on HD Metal of Kanturk Castle by digital artist Viv Buckley.

This years theme “Pride of Place” was suggested by Kanturk Tidy Towns and is also a link to our first theme back in 2009 of “Place”. We had well over 300 hundred entries in 5 categories. Once again the standard was very high across all age groups. Thank you to
Poetry Slam 2018 a great time was had by all.
This year we were honoured to welcome back retired judge & poet, Michael Pattwell to preside over this year’s poetry slam. He did so with great humour. A very enjoyable night was had by all. Thanks to Breda Sheehan of Kanturk Bookshop for once again sponsoring the poetry slam. Thanks
