School Art 2018

This years theme “Pride of Place” was suggested by Kanturk Tidy Towns and is also a link to our first theme back in 2009 of “Place”. We had well over 300 hundred entries in 5 categories. Once again the standard was very high across all age groups. Thank you to all the schools and teachers for all the work they put in to help make this competition a success. Finally and by no means least, thanks to all the pupils for allowing us to display their works of art all around the town, turning Kanturk into one giant open-air art gallery.

Desmond Daly (Director Kanturk Credit Union), Patrica Messinger (C103 FM), overall winner Róisín Cussen (Scoil Mhuire) Kevin Roche ( Kanturk Credit Union), John Phillip Murray (Competition Judge) & Lisa Egan ( Kanturk Arts Festival)
Lisa & Kevin went to St Colmans BNS to present Brian, Liam & Wojciech with their framed pictures. Congratulations to the future festival invited artists in the making.

Lisa & Kevin also went to Scoil Mhuire to present Róisín & Molly with their framed winning entries, pictured here with the school’s Deputy Principal Denis Keating. Congratulations to you both.
