Patricia Messinger has been presenting Cork Today on C103 since 1990. The program is a mix of current affairs and social issues but above all its focus is on local issues. Patricia says ‘we pride ourselves on championing rural issues and we have been at the forefront of saving local hospitals, schools and post offices.’
Nominated 4 times for a PPI national radio award Patricia finally was award Current Affairs show of the year in 2015 an award she is very proud of.
Patricia is passionate about community and a great advocate for supporting local businesses and services. Her mantra is, use it or lose it! ‘If we don’t support local shops how can we expect them to stay open’ says Patricia. ‘It’s the same with local festivals if we don’t support the events then how can we expect them to continue?’
Patricia is honored to be asked to open this year’s Kanturk Arts Festival and wishes the organizing committee the very best of luck.
