Footprints

Jamie Samson, pen name of Jamie O’Donoghue, is a 24-year-old writer from Dublin. After dropping out of Trinity College Dublin, he acquired a TEFL degree and taught English for several years in France, Spain and Israel. He has been published previously in The Ogham Stone, a literary magazine based in the University of Limerick. In 2015, he was placed second in the Metro Eireann Short Story Award. He works as a book reviewer for the website BookBrowse and is currently working on his first novel. Although he couldn’t make it to Kanturk due to an injury, he would like to express what an honour it is to win the Flash Fiction Competition. It was a wonderful surprise and a greatly encouraging for a young writer.
